About Us

I've always loved music. Listening, singing, banging on things has been part of my daily life since as long as I can remember. It seems like it was only a matter of time before I learned to play guitar. I started taking lessons at the Vermont Conservatory for the Arts when I was in elementary school. I am naturally left-handed, but I learned right-handed as there were no left-handed teachers at the time. I joined my first band at 17, a classic rock cover band where I took up the bass guitar, not necessarily by choice but out of necessity. The other guitar player could play circles around me, so it was the logical choice at the time. I was a bass player for the next almost 20 years, playing with numerous bands, getting an engineering degree, raising kids, and more.

Having done many vocations over the years, I'm always ready to jump into something new. After a short stint at sandwich shop in early 2021, I found myself looking for something to occupy my newly found bountiful time. I was burned out on standard jobs that were available but I had to do something. I was working on a guitar that I bought from a friend that I fixing up for myself, when I realized how much fun it was to work on guitars. Having an electrical/electronics engineering background, I started to wonder if I could build a guitar of my own design. I had never worked with most of the tools I found myself working with, but I decided to go for it. Thus, the GravesTone Brand was born.

There is nothing like a custom guitar. You can feel the difference the minute you pick it up. I don't believe that a reliable, quality guitar needs to cost more than a used car. I am so glad that I am able to create instruments that create music.

I want people to enjoy playing
their GravesTone as much as I enjoyed building it.
